KTM has revealed a surprise 690 R Duke at the annual EICMA exhibition in Milan.
The new model appears essentially to be a standard Duke which benefits from the reintroduction of adjustable forks and shock which were removed from the Duke 4 in the interests of cost saving, plus the addition of what appears to be pretty much every item from the PowerParts catalogue, including an Akrapovic exhaust.
Suspension travel is increased from 135mm front and rear to 150mm front and rear, whilst saddle height climbs from 835mm to 865mm.
Power output is up by 1.5kW, presumably thanks to the Akra.
Brembo brakes are upgraded and now include a radial master cylinder according to the EICMA press release.
ABS to the rear wheel can be deactivated whilst maintaining front wheel anti-locking.
No prices posted on the SA webpages yet, but judging by European prices you can expect to be looking at around R110 000 – and that’s just plain silly.
